( VIDEO ) — See The Field

Here’s a quick pop-quiz for you:

What character, in what movie, eloquently uttered these lines ?

“… there’s a perfect shot out there trying to find each and every one of us. What we have to do is get ourselves out of its way. Let it choose us.”

Okay, no problem if it doesn’t immediately come to you (’cause you’ll soon see and hear WHO by following this post to the very end); however, let us give you some more background (and hints…)

It’s one of the greatest UNDERRATED movies of all time.

It’s brushed off by most as a “golf movie”; however, it’s so much more than that.

It was directed by Robert Redford and features a “guardian angel” figure who appears at the most-needed moment in the lead character’s life.

It’s chock full of metaphysical metaphors, mind-churning wisdom, and spiritual sound bites, like:

“Inside each and every one of us is our one true authentic swing. Something we was born with. Something that’s ours and ours alone. Something that can’t be learned… Something that’s got to be remembered.”

Know the movie name yet ?

Still want another hint ?

In one of the scenes in the movie — the same scene which is highlighted in the video clip we’re about to share with you — the “guardian angel” caddy tells his boss that he hasn’t figured out how to “see the field”…

This is why he hasn’t got into the flow of the game.

This is why he’s not feeling connected to himself, the ball, and the green.

In the book titled The Field (not related to this mystery movie), author Lynne McTaggart says The Field is a “cobweb of energy exchange” that links everything together in our universe.

Her conclusion, through in-depth scientific research and quantum investigation, is that everything is interrelated, and everything consists of energy vibrations. Everything is one.

And, in the movie that you’re about to find out the name of, the field is portrayed as being “true reality”, vividly flowing with moving color, with everything in the universe intimately linked – the way the birds wheel in the sky, the way every blade of grass contributes to The One.

Yet, setting aside the untouchable, Utopian (but still soulfully truthful) concept of oneness, we feel you’ll gain a more practical, meaty, easy-to-understand and useful tip from the video below.

The way we soaked in the message in the clip is by being reminded that when we are overwhelmed and let life happen to us, we often forget to focus on creation.

And creation is all about the expansion of our intuition and inner wisdom.

It’s about the ability to make conscious and powerful choices for ourselves and our lives.

It’s a feeling of effortless flow and a FOCUS on experiencing sequential moments of unlimited potential.

Simply watch this video clip, listen to the music, and you’ll be taken away.

We love this movie:

  1. Thank you for this clip….I LOVE IT!
I didn’t realize this movie was like that so I never bothered to watch it, but I think I’ll be renting it this weekend. Thanks again.
    Peace.
    Jim

  2. “The Legend of Bagger Vance” was indeed a great movie (filmed in the beautiful Lowcountry of Savannah, GA), and I am sure many viewers missed these magical insights. I do not even like golf, so perhaps that freed up my mind to take in the “larger picture.” As with any sport or major activity, being “in the zone” produces results far beyond normal.

  3. Thanks for bringing this video to my attention. I watched the movie some time ago. I’ve added it to my list to view again.
This is a great demonstration about manifestation and how it works.

  4. synchronicity strikes again. This is one of my favorite movies. Its message is very clear. I was stumbling around this morning, wondering how to deflate the negativity bubble that was surrounding me today (which doesn’t happen often). Negativity, self-doubt, worry about money…. the usual evil triplets that refuse to let me alone. But in a quiet moment of reflection and thought I remembered that everything is happening in a way that benefits my highest good; that the universe is taking care of me, one step at a time, that I need not worry about what is happening in my life because I know that everything will be fine. I see the end game, see the field, see the way I desire it to be, and so I came home from my thought break much happier and far more calm than I had been early this morning. Then I found your video. And once again i was struck by how simply the universe provides the reminders to us all that we ARE okay; that we are loved and protected, and that we DO create our realities for better or for worse. And that thinking from the end and working backwards is indeed the way to play this game of life. Thanks for the timely reminder. 🙂

  5. Awesome clip! Another reminder that “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear”.
Thanks for the Friday afternoon inspiration.

  6. WOW That gave me goose bumps. Thank You

  7. Barry and Heather,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This is very awakening video clip, it is around us, but we don’t see it.
I would also like to thank Ms. Darlene Pruett for the quotation “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. How through this is?
    Thank you

  9. Hi Heather and Barry…

What a wonderful clip to begin my morning! I hadn’t heard of the movie… it was exquisitely simple and incredibly powerful!

  10. I had seen this before, but was truly delighted to revisit it. How often we forget what we are apart of, and suffer the anxiety of this forgetting. I hope we all learn to follow what has chosen us and follow it for the good of all. Mahalo Nui Loa!!!

  11. Gee, this video really resonated deep inside me and the music brought a tear in my eye. It was like a ray of heaven shining into my soul. Thankyou.

    Love.

  13. Hi Barry and Heather,

Thanks so much for the clip.

I’m not sure how i missed this one since I am a big Will Smith fan, but maybe it was because it had a golf theme, which hasn’t grabbed me as yet.

Had I understood what a strong a message it carries, I would have surely watched it sooner.

“Seeing the Field” (although under a different name) is a concept I have used in my Comedy Coaching as well.

Teaching performers to see and feel the applauding audience before the step on stage is a visualization technique to help them set their “state of mind” for a great performance.

As with anything in life, we need to see the finished results of our endevours before we begin them.

Thanks again for the inspiration, it came at the right moment in time for me like so many of your messages. You both are an inspiration.

  14. A beautiful reminder of who we are and why we are here.
    Thank you.

  15. Thanks!

I offer you another movie (6 of them actually) which incredibly portrays how everything really works.

    Star Wars!

Watch it again, or watch it if you never have, and every time someone mentions ‘The Force’, substitute with ‘The Universe’

Specially in The Empire Strikes Back, during Luke’s training…..

  16. It seems that when we get caught up in the day to day routines we’re almost zombie-like and forget to stop and smell the roses, as it were and the real messages of life just pass us by or we have to repeat again until the lesson is learned. I think a daily practice of meditation just 5 or 10 minutes can bring us closer to that angel or wisdom that is in us all.
    Thank you for that video!
I’m going to rent it on netflix

  17. Hello my friends,

This clip was a reminder that we too often rush into situations without looking at what we are actually getting ourselves into. We react, rather than plan out our actions.

    Great reminder!

    Ray

  18. Great clip! I am also a Will Smith fan, but never heard of this movie. I will probably buy it now. I don’t play golf, but the concept envisioned here, would apply to anything in life.
