{"id":47,"date":"2008-05-11T17:47:00","date_gmt":"2008-05-11T21:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lwlworldwide.com\/blog\/?p=47"},"modified":"2008-05-12T18:07:01","modified_gmt":"2008-05-12T22:07:01","slug":"personal-achievement-and-doership-revisited","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lwlworldwide.com\/blog\/personal-achievement-and-doership-revisited\/","title":{"rendered":"Personal Achievement And Doership&#8230; Revisited !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201c<em>The time has come, the Walrus said, to talk of many things\u2026<\/em>\u201d starts the old poem by Lewis Carroll.<\/p>\n<p>It is relevant to this blog post as well.<\/p>\n<p>More so than ever, I\u2019ve become incredibly confused about how some people interpret their current experiences, and their self-assessment of their own habits and behaviors.<\/p>\n<p>Certain <strong><em>time-tested<\/em> mindsets<\/strong> and <strong>habits of thought<\/strong> breed daily achievement (i.e., getting things done or taking control of your day).<\/p>\n<p>But, before I tell you what I think some of those are, please allow me to list some of the items that confuse and sometimes baffle me.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->* * * * * * *<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #cc0000;\"><strong><br \/>\n&gt;&gt; <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Why people complain about how they don\u2019t have the money to do or buy what they want<\/strong>,<\/span><\/span> yet&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>*<\/strong> don\u2019t put forth the sweat equity; either in their job to put themselves in a position for an advancement, nor in their business so they can connect with more resources, contacts and customers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*<\/strong> blow $200.00 a week eating out, when they could eat in (healthy, fresh food from the grocery store) and put the $100 they save every week into buying silver coins (see <a href=\"http:\/\/barrygoss.com\/blog\/why-im-going-silly-for-silver\/\" target=\"_blank\">Why I&#8217;m Going Silly For Silver<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">&gt;&gt; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Why people who complain always have solutions to problems, yet fail to identify themselves as part of the problem<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*<\/strong> think of the person who cries, \u201cI can\u2019t open your PDF or play your .mp3 file\u201d when they still haven\u2019t updated their Adobe Reader program, or cleaned up their computer, browser, and operating system.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; border: 0;\" src=\"http:\/\/lwlworldwide.com\/images\/newbie.gif\" alt=\"The Newbie Club\" width=\"65\" height=\"72\" \/>If they\u2019d be willing to put the time in, and face the reality that they continue to struggle with their PC (and take ownership of that fact) they could learn a lot at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newbieclub.com\/?lwlmedia\" target=\"_blank\">The Newbie Club<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If they&#8217;d be willing to look at their own competency levels, then instead of blaming every vendor whose &#8220;system&#8221; doesn&#8217;t allow them to login or download their products, they&#8217;d spend as much time tracking down good computer instruction as they do tracking down a good car mechanic or hair dresser.<\/p>\n<p>Yep, if only&#8230; if only they could face up to that and put in the time, they could also learn a lot at PCPitStop and EHow.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">&gt;&gt; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Why people whine about not knowing how to find information and professional contacts to help them build their online business when they have 2 very valuable tools available to them<\/span><\/span><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Google.com and elance.com (or guru.com)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/lwlurl.com\/amazing\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; border: 0;\" src=\"http:\/\/lwlworldwide.com\/images\/searcha.jpg\" alt=\"Best Online Search Tool\" width=\"86\" height=\"112\" \/><\/a>Or, better yet&#8230;  grab a copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/lwlurl.com\/amazing\" target=\"_blank\">Search Automator 3<\/a> ! If you&#8217;ve ever been at a loss for quality content, information, or inspiration, you need to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">take a serious look at this<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>We use it daily to sift and sort through a treasure-trove of Websites, ebooks, tutorials, resources, checklists, guides, tips, tricks, articles, MP3s, videos, images, and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*<\/strong> We meet folks every day who email us and ask: &#8220;<em>How do you set up an e-commerce system?&#8221; <\/em>or &#8220;<em>How do you find mentors to interview?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Well, for the former, we can&#8217;t think of a better, low-cost, user-friendly automated and centralized service<a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-junkie.com\/?r=23308\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"float: right; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; border: 0;\" src=\"http:\/\/lwlworldwide.com\/images\/ejunkie.gif\" alt=\"E-Junkie\" width=\"109\" height=\"104\" \/><\/a> than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-junkie.com\/?r=23308\" target=\"_self\">E-Junkie<\/a>. Go take a look.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\"><strong>&gt;&gt; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Why people know exactly what they\u2019d do if they were in your shoes, yet slough off day-to-day responsibilities, while at the same time seek to assume additional ones<\/span><\/strong><\/span> (I\u2019ll definitely write about CDSF, or Consistent Daily Self-directed Focus, some other time).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\"><strong>&gt;&gt; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Why the average American today spends four hours daily in front of the tube (T.V. &#8211; i.e., Electronic Income Reducer) when they have more opportunities than ever before to be an incredible ACTIVE participant in life<\/span><\/strong><\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">&gt;&gt;<\/span> Why people react to what they think is happening, yet never verify their thought process with facts<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">&gt;&gt;<\/span> Why people assume that they have to fix themselves completely before they\u2019ll ever be \u201csomebody\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">&gt;&gt;<\/span> Why people complain about the weather outside when they need to be complaining about the weather in their head (inside).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Okay\u2026 so, I guess now I\u2019m about to get carried away, and could probably go on ad infinitum, but you get my drift, so I\u2019ll STOP. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The bottom line<\/span>, as Life Coach Tim Brownson says, is &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stevenaitchison.co.uk\/blog\/2008\/02\/27\/12-great-ways-to-be-miserable\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>some people just like to be miserable<\/em><\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To sum all this up, I offer the following definition from Webster:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><em>CONCEPTUALISM<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; a doctrine in philosophy intermediate between nominalism and realism, that says that universals exist only within the mind, and have no external or substantial reality.<\/p>\n<p>Uhmmmm, kind of a more rough, raw, old school, but still needed-to-be-read similarity to what we know as MANIFESTATION.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Now, for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Barry\u2019s plain English version<\/span> &#8211; \u201cYou got an idea, a desire or a wish? Then DO something with it rather than jump on a soapbox.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\"><strong>&gt;<\/strong><\/span> Talking about it alone won\u2019t make it happen.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">&gt;<\/span><\/strong> Daydreaming about it, with pretty and plump thought bubbles, all day, will just cause it to stay in the ethers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">&gt;<\/span> And, complaining about it constantly will just make it run away.<\/p>\n<p>But, while those may be three ways to NOT take control of your life and get what you want, there are plenty of interviews available too, a la carte, that can help make your physical world operate at a much more optimized pace.<\/p>\n<p>Guidance, inspiration, and leadership is what it&#8217;s about. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lwlworldwide.com\/shop.php\" target=\"_blank\">You can find a lot of that here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But, if you you&#8217;re all set inwardly &#8211; you&#8217;ve got the awareness and awakened mind to work on building things (like a spare-time or part-time online business) &#8211; then, go for something fun and rewarding like:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/unwrapped.nichestore.hop.clickbank.net\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; border: 0;\" src=\"http:\/\/lwlworldwide.com\/images\/bans.jpeg\" alt=\"Build a Niche Store\" width=\"150\" height=\"125\" \/>Build a Niche Store<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a great way to build an eBay business without selling your own products.<\/p>\n<p>Check it out. <a href=\"http:\/\/unwrapped.nichestore.hop.clickbank.net\" target=\"_blank\">BANS<\/a> enables you to build eBay affiliate websites targeted to any eBay niche you want. Just decide you will do it, when you want it done, then figure out the how.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>We have something really important at stake<\/strong>. And not getting it just isn\u2019t acceptable. We are willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to get things done. We are willing to invest more time, money and energy in the right tactics to move forward quickly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>We are resourceful<\/strong>. \u201cSorry, not possible\u201d is not an answer that we accept. We constantly scan for, \u201cWhat would have to happen to have this in my life?\u201d There are no obstacles that can\u2019t be overcome, just opportunities to explore other options.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;\">Getting things done fast is about possessing a certain attitude that causes you to take consistent action on your highest payoff activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;\">If you find that you don\u2019t yet possess a speed implementer\u2019s mindset and habits, then it\u2019s time to get some help.
