{"id":2318,"date":"2010-12-31T17:35:26","date_gmt":"2010-12-31T21:35:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lwlworldwide.com\/blog\/?p=2318"},"modified":"2010-12-31T19:53:53","modified_gmt":"2010-12-31T23:53:53","slug":"going-all-in-for-life-ready","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lwlworldwide.com\/blog\/going-all-in-for-life-ready\/","title":{"rendered":"Going All In For Life &#8211; Ready?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a02010 is fast becoming to an end &#8212; less than 12-hours left, actually, as I&#8217;m writing this post.<\/p>\n<p>So, by now, you&#8217;ve probably received a lot of advice about making (or not making) resolutions, plans for the New Year, and just being a more productive, value-driven person in general.<\/p>\n<p>Scratch that. <strong>I know you HAVE! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s face it, if you have an email, you get all kinds of seemingly must-read advice (heck, sometimes we&#8217;ve even put &#8220;must read&#8221; in the subject lines of past emails).<\/p>\n<p>So yes, we, too,\u00a0get stuff all the time&#8230; some of it great and uniquely usable. But, to be straight, most of it is just &#8216;me too&#8217; surface-level drivel from self-appointed gurus-of-the-moment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The approach we&#8217;ve taken over the years is simple, however<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>We claim to\u00a0know little&#8230; unless, that is, at the time, we know <em>more than <\/em>our current awareness would allow via experience. In other words, we do our best to NOT get too &#8216;turned on&#8217; by any new idea, growth method, spiritual precept, or dominant social thought <em>UNLESS<\/em> we see it as <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">instrumental<\/span> in\u00a0moving us forward.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There are\u00a0way, way way too many teachers, mentors, and social thinkers out there who HOLD ON TO one key identity, one focused way of teaching _____ (fill in the blank), or a belief about who they are,\u00a0and what they need to tell people\u00a0who have preconceived ideas about what\u00a0they\u00a0feel they want to hear.<\/p>\n<p>Grandiose labels are easy to list upon ourselves &#8212; such as King of Manifesting, JV Prince,\u00a0Article Queen, or\u00a0Laundry Goddess, etc.\u00a0&#8212; but they&#8217;re just as easily detrimental to our RESULTS (i.e., &#8220;<em>Am I really getting and doing what I say I want to<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> get<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">do<\/span>?&#8221;<\/em> )<\/p>\n<p><strong>We humans\u00a0 need to start\u00a0believing in\u00a0what we practice&#8230; and we\u00a0 should consistently\u00a0practice what we know to be effective for our growth.\u00a0Anything else is just talk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As Gary Ryan Blair pointed out to us once: &#8220;<em>behavior doesn&#8217;t lie!<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And, if we&#8217;re not practicing (or living) the exercises and inner-world insights that are passed down to us from teachers we cling on to (some of us in a more\u00a0worshipping, pedestal-putting way than others) &#8212; the very same &#8220;stuff&#8221; that we spout off to others, like we&#8217;re some all-knowing powerful seer of wisdom &#8212; then we\u2019re not walking our talk.<\/p>\n<p>And, if you&#8217;re not experiencing what you&#8217;re consciously trying to get, then maybe it&#8217;s time to just DROP the crap you&#8217;ve dumped on yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, just strip yourself of WHO you think you are,\u00a0based on\u00a0somebody telling you great things (or maybe not-so-great things) about how you did this or that in the past&#8230; and do what our friend and fellow renegade-thinker, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerlifesuccesssystems.com\/go.php?6_A141\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Kemski<\/a>, is suggesting:<\/p>\n<p>The following was a reply to Heather&#8217;s pretty kick-butt inspiring post (nothing more, nothing less) titled &#8220;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/heathervale.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/07\/going-all-in-for-life\/\" target=\"_blank\">Going All In For Life<\/a><\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hi Heather.\u00a0 I think about this stuff all the time and you know what? A lot of people have NO IDEA what this really means\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Because it\u2019s sort of scary for a lot of people.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been \u201cAll In\u201d many, many times in life and some times I lost all my chips so to speak, but guess what I got from losing those chips?<\/p>\n<p>Clarity!<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the stuff we hold onto is stuff we really should let go of because it\u2019s not serving and the best and fastest way to do that\u2026<\/p>\n<p>You guessed it! GO ALL IN! \u00a0(It\u2019s only scary because it forces us to get the hell out of our warm and fluffy comfort zones where NO GROWTH ever happens.)<\/p>\n<p>And as strange as this may sound, even if you \u201close\u201d, you never really lose because you\u2019re always left with EXACTLY what you need to enjoy life right now\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Going \u201cAll In\u201d adds excitement to your life and keeps you on your toes\u2026 Who cares what the \u201cother\u201d people think or say!<\/p>\n<p>Until the day comes that I can\u2019t march anymore, I\u2019ll be marching to the beat of my own drum.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for sharing this, chickadee!
